Robert Enelow, M.D., F.A.C.P. |
Dr. Robert Enelow has practiced internal medicine since 1988. He is an assistant clinical professor of medicine at Georgetown University Medical School, and has mentored medical students for the past ten years. He conducts clinical rounds with medical residents from three medical schools: Georgetown, George Washington University and Virginia Commonwealth University. In 1990 he was named Teacher of the Year at Georgetown University. Dr. Enelow served as chairman of the Institutional Review Board of District of Columbia General Hospital from 1993-1994. He was a clinical investigator in the Antihypertensive and Lipid-Lowering Heart Attack Prevention Trial. He has also participated in clinical trials in the evaluation of drugs for the treatment of hypertension, hyperlipidemia and asthma. He is currently serving on the Data Monitoring Committee of a Phase 1 Avian Influenza Vaccine Investigational Protocol. He regularly speaks on a variety of medical topics, including the management of cardiovascular disease, heart failure, hypertension, women’s cardiovascular health, and the role of estrogen and progesterone in post-menopausal heart disease. He has served on the lecture bureaus of numerous pharmaceutical corporations, including Pfizer, Eli Lilly, Novartis, and Astra-Zeneca. Dr. Enelow has extensive experience as an expert witness. He is a peer reviewer for the Annals of Internal Medicine, and has reviewed articles on a regular basis for the past six years. In 2007 he was appointed a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, in recognition of his superior clinical and academic achievements. He received his medical degree from Tulane University Medical School and 1985, and completed his training in Internal Medicine at the Washington Hospital Center in 1988. |
